These seniors were accepted into various community colleges, trade schools and 4-year universities including the University of California Berkeley, University of California Santa Cruz, University of California Davis, San Jose State University, Fresno State, San Francisco State, Chico State, Cal State Sacramento, National Hispanic University and Cal State Stanislaus.

Health and Wellness

Recognizing the startling health risks facing Latino community, MACSA provides comprehensive senior health services and family fitness services. In partnership with Generations Community Wellness Centers (GHip) and numerous volunteers, MACSA provides fitness and recreations services to promote health and wellness in the community.

Prevention and Intervention

In partnership with Building Peaceful Families, MACSA co-hosted the 2nd Annual Building Peaceful Families Fatherhood Conference. The 2005-2006 conference was titled "Fatherhood for the Next Generation." Among the workshops presented by MACSA staff were "Boys to Men," "Responsibilities of New Dads" and "Building Relationships After Incarcerations." More than 750 fathers participated in the conference. The success of this conference is a result of a rewarding and effective collaboration.

Real Estate
Development and Housing

MACSA, through its development affiliate, Ketzal Community Development Corporation (CDC), completed construction of Las Mariposa, MACSA's affordable first time homebuyer condominium and townhouse development project. Las Mariposas is a 66 unit affordable for sale project that offers a mix of two and three bedroom units, with tile roofs and many features associated with up scale conventional housing. The average subsidy was $110,000 reducing the actual cost per unit to anywhere from $245,000 to $330,000.

Professional Consulting

As part of MACSA's self sufficiency strategy, the agency began to market its 42 years of non-profit management knowledge by offering other non-profits professional accounting and administrative services.
